Bright Health Individual and Family health insurance plans in Alabama include no out-of-pocket cost preventive care to stave off illness and keep you happy and healthy.
It’s not often you can get something for nothing. We believe that it’s cheaper to prevent illness than to treat it, so Bright Health and our Care Partner, Brookwood Baptist Health, added wellness visits, immunizations, screenings, and other preventive services to plans sold on the state or federal Health Insurance Marketplace.
Taking the time to get screenings and take care of your health can help you stay healthier in the long run. So preventive care can save you time and money, but most importantly, maintain your health for years to come.
In general, the following services are typically covered by a Bright Health plan with our Care Partner, Brookwood Baptist Health, but it is always best to ask before seeing a doctor.*
Bright Health’s covered preventive health services are in accordance with the A or B recommendations of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. For information about specific qualifications, visit the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force’s website. We cover nutrition/diet counseling for overweight or obese adults to prevent cardiovascular disease or for diabetics.
Developing a strong relationship with your doctor is important for maintaining good health. Plus, Bright Health offers rewards for designating a doctor or other qualified healthcare professional as your PCP, and for completing your first primary care visit.
Your PCP can be whoever you consider your “home-base” for your health. This can be your family practice doctor, a physician’s assistant (PA), nurse practitioner (NP), OB/GYN, or a pediatrician for children. If you don’t already have a PCP.
As a reminder, you have access to any provider in the Bright Health network. You’re not required to choose a PCP, but we do encourage you to pick one to be your healthcare quarterback.
We are not a traditional health insurance company. We were founded by healthcare experts and are run by folks who care about your health - and your pocketbook. Get to know your healthcare insurer before enrolling in Alabama.
