When is the open enrollment period?

Open enrollment periods may vary by state, but in 2017 open enrollment was November 1 to December 15. The next open enrollment period (OEP) for an individual and family health insurance plan is set to begin on November 1, 2018. You can check for any news and updates at https://www.healthcare.gov/ .

I missed open enrollment, how can I get covered for 2018?

After open enrollment, you can still sign up for a new individual and family health insurance plan during special enrollment. If you've experienced one of the qualifying life events below, you may still be eligible for a 2018 plan.

Let's see if you qualify for a special enrollment period.

Happy birthday! If you’ve recently turned 26 and are leaving your parents’ plan, you can qualify for Bright Health insurance for 2018. You have until December 31 of the year you turn 26 to find new health coverage.
Are you new in town and looking for new doctors? Moving to a new zip code may qualify you for Bright Health insurance plan in 2018. You must prove you had qualifying health coverage for one or more days during the 60 days before your move. We’ll help you find the care you need.
Congrats on your little bundle of joy! They need health insurance, too. Your Bright Health insurance coverage can start the day of the event — even if you enroll in the plan up to 60 days afterward.
If you've gotten married or divorced and need new individual or family health insurance, Bright Health has got you covered. You have up to 60 days from the event to enroll.
These aren't the only life events that will make you eligible for special enrollment. Visit healthcare.gov  for a complete list of qualifying life events.
